OFF THE BEATEN PATH®: CONNECTICUT - MEET AUTHOR CINDI PIETRZYK & ENJOY LIGHT REFRESHMENTS FROM ABIGAIL'S GRILLE

Join Off the Beaten Path® Connecticut author Cindi Pietrzyk at the Simsbury Public Library, 725 Hopmeadow St. on Sunday, December 8, 2013 from 2:00 to 3:30 PM as she talks about her book. You will also enjoy light refreshments from Abigail's, a Simsbury restaurant highlighted in the book. Cindi will present a slide show that highlights a few stops in each section of the book, offering some little-known facts and some stories about her travels. At the end of her presentation, she will take questions or suggestions of new places to add to the book. Books will be available for sale and signing.

Cindi Pietrzyk is a freelance writer and editor who is the author of numerous New England travel books, as well as serving as an editor for Connecticut Forest and Park’s Connecticut Walk Book: East. When she is not writing, she works as a freelance proofreader and editor. She graduated from UConn with a degree in English and then went on to almost complete her Master’s Degree in Liberal Arts at Wesleyan University. Having completed everything but her thesis when her first daughter was born, Cindi never found the time to write that last paper, and chose, instead, to focus on her family, moving them all back to Durham, where she grew up on the family farm. Today, Cindi and her husband live on a remaining piece of that same farm, where they continue to raise their children, two dogs, and three cats. Cindi is a self-proclaimed “small-town girl,” who has a terrible sense of direction, doesn’t like to drive on anything but small town back roads, and would rather be riding a horse anyway. She loves exploring, though, and is always on the lookout for out-of-the-way treasures. She especially loves all things historic and often gets sucked in for hours at a time researching the history of some person, place or thing. She is currently at work on her next book, fiction this time, which she hopes to publish sometime in the near future.
