TEEN PROGRAM - HAM RADIO TODAY! YOU CAN BE AN INVENTOR, EXPERIMENTER & GLOBAL COMMUNICATOR

Josh Rozovsky, who got his Amateur Radio License at age 14, and several experienced amateur radio operators representing several facets of the hobby will share their experiences, how they got into ham radio (most as kids), and how it continues to be a lifelong passion – and for some led to their careers in engineering or the sciences. They will demonstrate aspects of ham radio including learning about electronics and computers, Morse code, emergency communications, friendship over great distance and community service. Attendees will be able to try out different radios and talk around the state, or maybe the world! (30 minute presentation followed by 90 minutes demos and hands-on). Read more about Ham Radio and the Bloomfield Amateur Radio Club at http://w1cwa.wordpress.com/become-a-ham/. Register at 860-658-7663 x2200 or on the teen page at www.simsburylibrary.info. Free! FOR TEENS ENTERING GRADES 7-12. Weather permitting, this event will be held indoors and outdoors.
