Please join us for the Simsbury Girls Varsity Soccer game on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at 6pm at Simsbury High School. (JV plays at 3:45pm) The Varsity team will be dressed in pink in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month as they play against rival Hall High of West Hartford. Pizza, baked goods and beverages will be sold at the game with all proceeds (including gate receipts) going to Casting for Recovery (CFR). Donations also will be accepted.
CFR is a unique organization that provides an opportunity for breast cancer survivors to gather in a natural setting and learn the sport of fly fishing here in Connecticut. Fly fishing provides physical therapy which promotes recovery following breast cancer surgery; the weekends provide spiritual and emotional healing. CFR’s mission is to provide women with powerful tools for healing at no expense to them. For more information about CFR, see www.castingforrecovery.org
