Drive with care this morning- students at Latimer Lane and Tootin' Hills schools are participating in a Walk/Bike to school event this morning. This event was originally scheduled for Oct. 3 but was postponed until this morning due to rain last week.

Commuters who travel on Rte. 10 may want to consider an alternate route to and from work today and Thursday. Simsbury Police issued an alert on Tuesday informing residents of construction on Hopmeadow Street north of Stratton Brook Road.

Join Simsbury Public Library for Your Dependent with Special Needs: Making Their Future More Secure today at 7 p.m. This workshop, presented by Stuart Hawkins of Met Life Center For Special Needs Planning, will educate families on the importance of planning for the future of their child or dependent with special needs.

Is your high school student getting ready to take the SAT? Local tutor, Martha Gilbert will offer four hands-on essay workshops for students who will be taking the SAT this fall.  Students will learn strategies to write an effective essay, from the zinger of an introductory sentence, the art of brainstorming, mechanics to writing a powerful and impressive conclusion. There are 15 spots in each session. Students only need to attend once as each session will be identical.
