SIMSBURY RESIDENTS INVITED TO “FAMILY HEARING DAY” AT STATE CAPITOL

State Representative John K. Hampton (D-Simsbury) is urging families caring for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) to voice their thoughts and concerns at an informal hearing with the I/DD Legislative Caucus on February 7th, 2014 in Room 2D of the Legislative Office Building at 11:00 a.m.

“I am pleased to help these families gain a stronger voice at the State Capitol. I am proud to champion their issues in the state legislature. I look forward to advancing their efforts to promote lives of hope, dignity and fulfillment for those with intellectual/developmental disabilities,” said Rep. Hampton.

Rep. Hampton was instrumental in creating the bipartisan I/DD Legislative Caucus and in organizing Family Hearing Day. Hampton is working closely with legislative colleagues and FAVARH, a private non-for-profit human services agency that provides support and services to more than 400 individuals and families living in the Greater Farmington Valley.
