Latimer Lane Walk/Bike to School Day Oct. 2, 2013

The Latimer Lane School Safe Routes to School Committee is hosting Walk/Bike to School Day to celebrate National Walk to School Day and International Walk to School Month.  Students, parents, teachers, and staff are encouraged to participate by walking or biking to school from home, or from one of our twelve meeting locations where there will be parent chaperones to walk or bike with students to school.  Those who live too far away or have conditions unsafe to bike or walk from home may be driven to a meeting site.  There will be small prizes and a prize drawing for Latimer Lane participants.

Why Walk or Bike to School?

Walk/bike-to-school events promote physical activity, reduce traffic and pollution, help children develop safe pedestrian and biking skills, build community connections, help schools identify improvements needed for safer walking and biking, and gather support for improving walking and biking safety for the whole community.
