Simsbury elementary schools' second event celebrating National Walk to School Day and International Walk to School Month is Oct. 9 at Tootin' Hills School. For their International Walk to School Day celebration, students will be walking to school from their homes or from neighborhood meeting locations from which parent chaperones will walk with students to school. Police assistance will be available at key locations . As always, but especially on Walk to School Day, please DRIVE WITH CARE while students are traveling to and from school (7:30-8:30 AM; 2:45-3:45 PM). Walk/bike-to-school-day events are part of the national Safe Routes to School initiative dedicated to improving conditions around schools so that more children can safely walk and bike to school, promoting healthy lifestyles and a healthy earth.
