Chubb makes a $10,000 donation to the Martin Luther King, Jr. in CT Memorial Project
Simsbury will be home to a permanent memorial of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the impact that the two summers he spent as a young migrant worker on a tobacco farm here in Simsbury had on him and on his call to ministry.
Almost three years ago, two dozen Simsbury High School students researched, scripted, and produced a video documentary of the two summers that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. spent here in Simsbury. Now the students are working to raise $100,000 dollars to create a permanent memorial in Simsbury of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The project initially received a generous donation from Cigna in the amount of $20,000, and has continued to receive many other donations from residents, local and state businesses, and nonprofit organizations since. Recently, Chubb Specialty Insurance made a $10,000 donation to the project. The students and advisers of the MLKinCT Memorial Project want to thank Chubb for their generous support.
