The first in a series of concerts presented by the Simsbury Historical Society, will take place on September 7. Come and enjoy a beautiful fall evening of solo jazz piano by Sam Parker in the SHS garden Saturday 9/7 at 6:00 PM. No admission will be charged, freewill donations are welcome.

Sam Parker is a pianist in the Hartford, CT area. Originally from coastal Maine, he came to Connecticut to study at the Jackie Mclean Institute of Jazz at The Hartt School. At Hartt, he studied with Andy Laverne, Nat Reeves, and Steve Davis, and now works at The Hartt School, accompanying the jazz vocalists. He works as a freelance musician in New England and performs with Ed Fast and Conga Bop, Antoinette Montague, Dana Lauren, Steve Davis, and Shawnn Monteiro, among others.
