Cumberland Farms Gas Station

There is an application in Town Hall for 155 Hopmeadow Street (The Pool Barn site) for a Cumberland Farms Gas Station and a 4,200 square  foot store.  Do we need another gas station?  There is a trench/ ditch on the property that flows into Minister Brook which flows into the Farmington River. Do we want the Farmington River to be affected if there was ever an accident?  The Wetlands Commission met on March 4th and the 18th. The minutes are on the town website. They will meet again on April 1st to make their decision. The public is welcome to come to this meeting. The site is not zoned for a gas station so it would then go to the Planning and Zoning. The barn was built in 1911 and was used as a drying tobacco warehouse on the railroad. The plan is to remodel the barn and used it as a mixed use building. All the plans are in the Building Department at Town Hall if anyone wants more information.
