Letter to the Editor: It's Not Too Late for Santorum

'First and foremost, a vote for Rick is a vote for freedom!'

As you know, the Republican primary is coming up in just a few short days (April 24). You may have also heard that Rick Santorum suspended his campaign. What you may not know is that he will still be on the ballot. If you were planning on voting for him or even if you weren't sure, but know that you do not want Romney to be our candidate, I urge you to still vote for Rick in our upcoming primary.

Why? First and foremost, a vote for Rick is a vote for freedom! Rick was a champion for freedom. He is also a very strong advocate for protecting our constitution.

Also, and possibly most importantly, a vote for Rick will show the establishment that they can not choose our candidate for us. It will tell them that we are not going to lie down and play dead while they tell us who to vote for. It tells them that we have minds of our own and that we will use those minds to choose the candidate who best represents our values.

Some people argue that voting for Rick is a wasted vote since he is no longer running. That couldn't be further from the truth. It will take votes away from the other candidates that we don't believe in. Worst case scenario, it will send us into a brokered convention. That could be a good thing, because then anyone, including Rick, can become our nominee.

You will not be alone in your vote. There are thousands of us online banding together, actively campaigning for Rick to make this happen. We do realize Rick may not re-enter the race, but for the reasons I stated above, it is important that you still vote for Rick. Plus, who knows... If Rick sees enough support, if he gets enough votes, maybe he will decide to re-enter the race.

I will be voting for Rick Santorum in the primary. Primaries are when we must vote for the candidate who shares our values. I'm 90% sure I'll have to hold my nose and vote for Romney in the general election. I refuse to do it until he has earned the 1144 delegates he needs to be the nominee. Thank you, Gina for encouraging others to do the same.

I encourage Conservative voters to vote their conscience, values and core convictions in their primaries. As part of the grassroots support for Rick Santorum, we want to take the nomination to the convention. A vote for Rick will send a conservative message to the GOP establishment. Rick Santorum is still on the ballot and has not endorsed anyone, nor has he released his delegates. He will bring them to the convention and continue to be our voice for conservative principles when building the Republican platform. Mitt Romney needs to work to earn our support. We resist the GOP dictating to us who the nominee will be without our voice in the matter. The primary is the opportunity to vote your heart. An open convention is healthy for the party. Restore the Republican Party, vote for Rick Santorum and let your voice be heard.

Rick Santorum made me proud to be an American again. I watched every speech and debate and always left with knowing he truly represented my values and feelings. I voted for Rick in my primary. I understand why he suspended. I am so happy that the conservative movement he started can continue. It may take your voice though. Kind of reminds me of one of my favorite books. Horton hears a who. The Whos were little creatures and not very powerful, but when they put their voices together, they were heard and could be saved. That goes along with one of our precious values....that every life has value. You are significant! Will you help with your voice. Will you vote your conscience and get us to the convention. Every voice counts, but the most important one is YOURS!

Several states have their primaries the day after tomorrow. Please get out and vote for Rick. Sending a clear conservative message may be our last hope of getting our country back on the track of freedom.

Dare to Vote Rick Rick Santorum has suspended his campaign, but that does not mean we should suspend our vote! There are plenty of reasons to still vote for him! Watch the vid... http://youtu.be/AMjycf1sh_0

My husband and I have never actively participated in a political campaign until this election. After watching every debate, we liked what Rick Santorum had to say and began to spread the word. We were asked to be our county's coordinator for Rick and proudly we campaigned for him. We had the chance to attend two events and meet him. His message is strong and he walks the talk. Conservatives need to be heard at the convention. Please vote Rick Santorum! Your vote will not be wasted!
