Easley Pedestrian Struck, Killed

South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating as to why the man was in the roadway

An Easley man is dead after he was struck and killed on S.C. 135 early Wednesday morning.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the 30-year-old man was struck around 1:30 a.m. as he was walking in the roadway.

Because of poor visibility, troopers said the man was struck by several other cars. All of the vehicles involved did stop.

The incident is under investigation. The Pickens County Coroner's Office has not released the name of the man killed.

This marks the first fatal crash of 2013. In 2012, Pickens County had 16 road deaths.
