Firefighters Respond to Farmington River After Tuber Calls Out for Help

A tuber in the Farmington River called out for help Wednesday evening but was able to get himself out safely, officials said.

Officials said the Simsbury Fire Department was called to the Tariffville Park area a few minutes after 5 p.m. Wednesday after a tuber came upon rapids in the river and called out for help.

The man was able to get himself out of the river and fire officials were one scene for less than an hour, according to a fire department dispatcher.
