Man Dies Following Early Morning Crash on Owens Brook Boulevard

A single car accident took the life of the driver and injured a passenger.

An unidentified driver was killed in an early morning crash on Wednesday on Owens Brook Boulevard, according to Simsbury Police.

Police dispatchers received several 911 calls from residents at approximately 12:42 a.m. on Wednesday in the area of Horseshoe Circle on Owens Brook Boulevard. First responders arrived to find a single vehicle 'resting on the roof,' police said.

The driver, who had been ejected from the vehicle, was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Hartford where he died from injuries sustained in the accident. A passenger in the vehicle sustained non-life threatening injuries and was also transported to St. Francis Hospital.

Police offered no possible causes for the single-car crash but said the incident remains under investigation by Simsbury Police and the North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Squad, according to a statement.
