National Organization Joins Search for Missing Farmington Valley Girl

Shanequa-Lyn Rock, 16, was reported missing Dec. 29.

Avon—The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reached out to Avon detectives this week offering to work with them as they search for an Avon 16-year-old who went missing a few weeks ago.

Ther non-profit organization's mission is to "serve as the nation’s resource on the issues of missing and sexually exploited children," according to its website.

There have been no reported sightings of Shanequa-Lyn Rock, 16, since her family reported her missing on Dec. 29.

A Silver Alert was issued that day because she left home without necessary medication.

Rock, a white female, is about 5' 3" and weights 210 pounds. Police said she has blue eyes, a light complexion and short, red or auburn hair. She might be wearing a black jacket and black/white boots and carrying a green duffle bag, police previously said.
