Police Still Searching for Missing Avon Teen

Have you seen 16-year-old Shanequa-Lyn Rock?

Police are still looking for an Avon teen reported missing last Saturday.

Shanequa-Lyn Rock, 16, was "discovered missing" that morning at 8:30 a.m. and she may have left home without necessary medication, police said in a previous press release. A Silver Alert was issued that afternoon.

Capt. Jeffrey Blatter wrote in an email to Patch Thursday that the "case is still actively being investigated" by Avon police.

Police said she used her ATM card in West Hartford around 3:28 a.m. before she was reported missing last Saturday.

The Hartford Courant reported that state police said she may have been trying to catch a bus to Vermont or New York in Hartford.

Rock, a white female, is about 5' 3" and weights 210 pounds. Police said she has blue eyes, a light complexion and short, red or auburn hair. She might be wearing a black jacket and black/white boots and carrying a green duffle bag, police said.

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Avon Police Detective Unit at (860) 409-4200," Blatter wrote.

So, do the authorities believe she left voluntarily, or do they think someone was involved in her disappearance??
