Police Warn Residents of Hartford County Armed Robberies

After a string of armed robberies in Hartford County, police urge residents to be cautious.

The town of Simsbury issued a citizen alert today warning residents of a series of armed robberies that have occurred in Hartford County.

Suspects wearing baseball caps and hooded sweatshirts and at least one shotgun have committed armed robberies in several towns over the past two weeks, police said.

The robberies have occurred at gas stations, convenience stores, and take-out restaurants.

Police have no reason to suspect an armed robbery will occur in Simsbury, according to a statement. But police are asking business owners to be on the lookout for any suspicious activity.

If someone sees something suspicious but it is not an emergency they can call Simsbury Police at 860-658-3100. If there is an emergency, call 911.
