A Granby police officer pursued the suspect of a Thursday morning Southwick, MA, gas station robbery south on Route 10 and on to Route 189 through parts of East Granby, Simsbury and Bloomfield.
The officer lost contact with the suspected car in Bloomfield, and he remains at large.
Capt. William Tyler of the Granby Police said the Southwick, MA, police department broadcast that a robbery had occurred at a gas station on Route 10 at about 6:11 a.m.
Since Southwick borders Granby, town police were on the lookout for the vehicle suspected in the robbery.
At 6:14 a.m., Tyler reported, a Granby officer in a marked cruiser noticed a vehicle matching the broadcast description heading south on Route 10 near the state line.
"When signaled to stop, the suspect vehicle engaged the Granby officer in pursuit south on Rt. 10 and on to Rt. 189 through portions of East Granby, Simsbury, and Bloomfield," Tyler said. "The Granby officer lost contact with the suspect vehicle in the area of Rts 187/189 in Bloomfield."
