Simsbury Fire Department Cautions Residents About Phone Scams
People are calling residents representing they are from the Fire Department.
The following information was posted on the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Department's Facebook page.
It has come to our attention that some of you have received phone solicitation for chimney inspections and the caller states that they represent The Simsbury Fire Department. The caller attempts to pressure the homeowner with scare tactics talking about the dangers of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning.
Please know that these calls are NOT from the Fire Department.
If you do receive a solicitation call like this please note the number that the call comes from and contact the Simsbury Police Department (860-658-3100). These calls are being investigated by the Simsbury Police Department.
