Simsbury Hosting Citizens' Police Academy

Applications available and due in January.

The Simsbury Police Department is hosting its 14th Annual Citizens’ Police Academy.  Classes will be held Thursday evenings from 7pm to 9pm beginning in February and ending in April.  Chief Peter N. Ingvertsen wishes to invite Simsbury residents and business owners, age twenty-one and older, to apply. 

A few of the subjects to be discussed during the ten week academy are: Arrest Procedures, Accident Investigations, Use of Force, Firearms, Emergency Services Teams, Active Shooter Response, and Crime Scene Investigations.

Those interested may obtain applications from the Simsbury Police Department (933 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury CT.)  Applications are also available at http://www.simsbury-ct.gov/police-emergency.  The application deadline is January 25, 2014.  Please submit applications attention to PFC.
