Simsbury Man Turns Himself In on Child Pornography Charges

Police seized child pornography from Matthew Gallant's Simsbury home in 2009.

A Simsbury man surrendered himself to state police on Tuesday after an investigation led to charges involving child pornography and promoting a child in an 'obscene performance.'

On Tuesday, Matthew Gallant, 26, of 403 Bushy Hill Road in Simsbury surrendered to an open warrant at state police Troop H in Hartford, according to the Simsbury News.

WTNH.com reports that Conn. state police were approached by Mass. police who traced online activity involving child pornography to Gallant's residence in Simsbury. A search of his home in 2009 yielded examples of child pornography.

Gallant was released on a $250,000 non-surety bond and will appear in court on May 7, according to court records.
