[Update] Simsbury Police Investigate Attempted Abduction

Simsbury Police are investigating reports of an attempted abduction.

Simsbury police are investigating an attempted abduction of a local child that took place early Friday afternoon.

At approximately 2:40 p.m. police responded to the area of Firetown Road and Crestwood Road for a suspicious person complaint, according to police.

Police said a 13-year-old girl was walking home when a vehicle pulled up next to her. A passenger in the vehicle told the girl to "get in my car," according to police.

The girl immediately ran home and notified police.

Police described the vehicle as green with two Conn. license plates, but the vehicle make or model are unknown.

The driver of the vehicle was not seen but the passenger is described as a white male in his mid 20’s, short dark hair, no facial hair, dark eyes and wearing a white t-shirt, according to police.

The Simsbury Police Department is asking residents that may have seen a vehicle that matches this description to call Detective Dan Thibault 860-658-3141 or Officer Jason Trombly at 860-658-3100 Ext. 4226.

Simsbury police are investigating an attempted abduction of a local child that took place early Friday afternoon.

The attempted abduction occured in the area of Grimes Brook and Firetown roads but the incident is under investigation, according to police.
