Chihuahua Case Hearing Postponed

Attorneys for both parties asked for a continuance in the case which will decide who gets to keep the small dog.

The ongoing dispute between two area families over a Chihuahua will continue for the time being.

A hearing in the ongoing dispute between Councilman Dave Watson, his wife Trish and the Blanton family over who can rightfully keep the small dog known as Lucy and Gracie was set for this morning in Liberty, but has been postponed.

A sign on the Liberty Magistrate Office’s door said that attorneys for both parties in the dispute have asked for a continuance.

A new hearing date has not been set yet.

The Watsons found the dog, who they call Gracie, in May. The Blanton Family, the original owners of the dog they call Lucy, say the Watsons are refusing to give the dog back, even though they acknowledge the dog was originally the Blanton’s.

Last month, Judge Michael Baker granted a change of venue motion in the case, stating that he and other area magistrates knew too much about the case.

He ordered the hearing moved to the Liberty Magistrate’s Office, and said a magistrate from outside Pickens County would be brought in to hear the case.

Residetns and even Easley city officials have weighed in on the case, the vast majority stating they believe the Watsons should return the dog to the Blantons.

You dont worry about my husband. He didnt leave me and we are good friends. We are both honorable people and neither of us have EVER been thought of as the Watsons are. Why don't we meet and discuss this face to face. You make me sick. I bet you are not even using your correct name. And yes, if I had to name the most hated people in Easley, it would be the Watsons and those associated with them (you). This is not over, you idiot. If possession is 9/10 of the law, I guess I can have some of those antiques that he has sitting on his stupid porch. You have to be one of the Watsons or at least related to them and are too afraid to give your name. You can bet I will badmouth the Watsons and anyone associated with them from now on. Why? Because I will worn everyone, whether I know them or not, of the evil Watsons because they steal and they lie. I have never felt the disgust for anyone that I feel for the Watsons. Think of it this way, if Charles Manson was in town, wouldn't you want to know about it. Dave and Tricia Watson are heartless, evil, and the whole town would be a better place if they would just disappear. Keep on with your comments but do it to my face. You name the time and place, you coward. You are just brainless and don't want to face the facts.

Like I said, Kelly Dixon, name the time and place. Why weren't you at the city council meeting if your feelings were so strong? Dave Watson didn't have even one person in that packed courtroom that sided with him. I am not kidding, you name the time and place and I will be there. We obviously need to discuss this face to face.

And you are so ignorant, Kelly or whatever your real name is. You have to call 98% of the population names because we are caring people and we don't want liars and thieves in our town? The Watsons have less than 2% of the population on their side. It breaks my heart to know that those kids hearts are broken and they cry for Lucy. How can you stand to see children hurt? What does that make you to get your jollies from seeing children hurt?

I have found 2 Kelly Dixons with address and phone number. When I contact them, if one of those is not you, then you are going to have even more very unhappy people against you. I realize you don't know the law, but it is illegal to assume someone else's identity.

You are brainless. You have no idea what the facts are in this case. How do you know he is taking good care of it? You are a true ass, they didn't let the dog out and Watson is a liar. You don't know anything, as your comments reflect. Once again, name the time and place so that we can review the facts and discuss this face to face.
