"John Hampton is an intelligent, compassionate, and dynamic public official and that is why I am proud to endorse his campaign to become Simsbury's next State Representative. I have had the privilege of working with John over the years and I know he will be a strong advocate for our children, our seniors, and the environment. A lot of people talk the talk but John actually walks the walk. I know John will bring the same energy and passion to the State Capitol that he's brought to the Board of Selectmen and I look forward to campaigning with him this fall," Murphy said.

Murphy, elected to Congress in 2006, is a candidate for U.S. Senate. Hampton declared his candidacy for State Representative on May 2nd and received the Democratic nomination on May 23rd.
