Connecticut Restaurant Week: Featuring Two Simsbury Restaurants

Abigail's Grille and Wine Bar and Maple Tree Cafe are just two of more than 100 restaurants in Connecticut that are participating in the fifth annual Connecticut Restaurant Week from Oct. 8 to 14.

Connecticut Restaurant Association, Sysco Connecticut and American Express are the co-sponsors, according to a press release.

"Restaurant Week provides diners with a unique opportunity to go out and enjoy a great meal at a great price," Nicole Griffin, executive director of Connecticut Restaurant Association, said in a press release. "Restaurants from Mystic to Stamford to Litchfield are participating in this year's event."

There are of course many restaurants in Simsbury and the surrounding area you can go to any time, but this week, patrons be able to order off a Restaurant Week menu priced at $20.12 at participating restaurants. There will be three course prix-fixe fare, specials for two, deals on bottles of wine and other specials that vary by restaurant.

The Abigail's Grille and Wine Bar menu features some tempting dishes like an Heirloom Tomato Caprese Salad, Swordfish and Eggplant Brochette, and a Native Peach Cobbler.

At Maple Tree Cafe the Restaurant Week options include a Classic Caesar Salad, Chicken Marsala, and homemade Apple Crisp.

“Restaurants and customers alike benefit from this great week of meals and deals," Griffin said. "Connecticut is home to so many wonderful varieties of cuisines and Restaurant Week is a fantastic way to showcase them."
