Elect Jeff Blumenthal

By John K. Hampton, Deputy First Selectman

Simsbury voters will have an opportunity to elect a Selectman on March 1 in the special election to fill a vacancy. The winner will be joining the board at a critical time. With state aid expected to decrease and a continuing desire to keep property tax increases to a minimum, the budget cycle will force the board to make many difficult choices. Also on the agenda is the study of busy Route 10, charter revision, and growing Simsbury’s tax base.

The choice is clear in this race: Jeff Blumenthal is the strongest candidate and best suited for this important office.

Blumenthal understands the challenges and opportunities Simsbury faces and, as a consensus builder, is prepared for the hard work that lies ahead in finding smart solutions for Simsbury’s future.
