Farmington River Expected to Flood Simsbury Roads Thursday Evening

Residents should use caution.

 

The Town of Simsbury is advising residents to be extremely cautious on town roads Thursday evening as the rising Farmington River is expected to cause moderate flooding. 

The river is expected to crest around 3 a.m. to a height of 13.3 feet. If this forecast holds true, town officials anticipate moderate flooding on Riverside Road, Route 315, Terry’s Plain Road and Nod Road.

At this cresting level, homes are not likely to be impacted, but residents are urged to be prepared in the event flooding is more severe than was forecast. Town officials will continue to monitor the rising Farmington River through the evening and take necessary action to ensure public safety when appropriate.
