Family information: Bob has been a resident of Simsbury for over 25 years. He has two children, Stephanie, 24, a graduate of University Mary Washington and Virginia Commonwealth University, currently employed as a clinical social worker at the VA in Richmond. Jennifer, 22, currently attending Northeastern University majoring in civil engineering. Both are graduates of Simsbury High School and were coxswains on the Simsbury Crew Varsity Team. Bob’s wife is an electrical engineer at Hamilton Sundstrand Space Systems.

Occupation: Robert Kulakowski is a certified home inspector for Cedar Hill Home Inspection, established in 2004. Cedar Hill Home Inspection is a division of Cedar Hill Services, LLC. Bob was trained at the Home Inspection Institute of America and Inspection Training Associates. He has been awarded “Lifetime Certified Home Inspector” from the Home Institute of America, is a Level 1 Certified Thermographer, a Certified Energy Tune-uP® Inspector, a Certified TankSure® Inspector and is HERS Auditing qualified.

He has advanced training in new home construction, commercial building assessment, home energy auditing & building science, infrared thermal imaging, and radon testing, to name a few.

Bob has passed the National Home Inspection exam, CT Home Inspector exam, CT Radon Proficiency Program exam, completed hundreds of home and commercial inspections and the HERS auditor exam.

Bob holds a State of Connecticut Home Inspector License.

Political experience: Currently an alternate member of the Simsbury Planning Commission.

Other experience: Bob is a member of the CT Assoc. of Home Inspectors (CAHI), and American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI). He is also a member of the Simsbury and Glastonbury chambers of commerce, four-time chairman of the SCoC Home Improvement Show, vice president of the SCoC, SCoC leadership and finance committees, and is an alternate member of the Simsbury Planning Commission.

Statement: My goals for the Simsbury Planning commission are to promote responsible development both residential and non-residential. Promote “Low Impact Design”, LID, to the town center development and expand the LID to other possible developments in Simsbury.
