Statement: This week has been a hard one for all of us. However, it has also reminded us all what wonderful people make up the town of Simsbury. All week, wherever you looked, you would see neighbors helping neighbors put their homes and yards back together. In my own neighborhood, a group of us got together and cleared fallen trees from each other’s homes, automobiles and yards. This was a strong reminder of what kind of community we are. The past week has also proven that more than ever Simsbury needs leaders who work with all parties to solve problems.

My professional and volunteer experiences have provided an excellent background to tackle times of crisis and continue the wonderful legacy that Simsbury offers to each of us. Responsible land use balanced with open space preservation, while maintaining sound fiscal policies is extremely important to me. From working hard to maintain the exemplary level of education that this town is renowned for to finding ways to make it easier for seniors to stay in town, I vow to hear everyone’s point of view and represent the people of Simsbury in the best way possible. This is a time for balanced, reasonable, thoughtful decision makers who truly understand what it means to grow up and live in Simsbury. I am someone who exemplifies these qualities.

As a member of the board of selectmen, I hope to continue my service to town in conjunction with other board members to ensure balanced decisions are made that take all residents of this great community into account. While elected officials may bring different points of view to office, they are elected to do what is best for the people they represent and find ways to get things done. I have extensive experience in listening to all sides of an issue and working to find a balanced approach for everyone. I will bring this experience to the board and lead our team to find the most cost effective way by eliminating bureaucracy and working together to bring forth effective solutions for Simsbury.
