Family information: Wife, Gina; children, Alexandra 12, Amanda 10, Vaughan Jr., 7. Attend Henry James Memorial School and and Tariffville Elementary School. Marecki has been a resident/taxpayer in Simsbury for over 47 years, has a home on Lucy Way. He also owns two commercial buildings (both in front of the first PAD in Simsbury). He has experience living in diverse communities, having lived in San Francisco and Boston. He was born, raised and schooled in Simsbury.

Occupation: I am a small business owner in town and own an executive recruiting firm — The M Consulting Group.

Political experience: None

Other experience: His grandfather, Angelo Salvatore, was a long-time member of the zoning board of appeals. His grandmother, Mary Marecki, is 93 and still lives on her own here in town. I have several aunts, uncles and cousins and childhood friends who reside in town. My parents and sister also live in town. My entire family, almost, worked at Ensign-Bickford, many lived in the EB houses. I know our town's history. His family history in Simsbury dates back almost 100 years. He is a member of the Simsbury Chamber of Commerce and a founding member of the CEO Forum.

Statement: Why am I running? I love this town! My family is one of the older families in town so I have a very vested interest in our town’s success and growth. As a long-time resident of the town of Simsbury, I am concerned about the growth of our town and its effect on both the tax base and our community. Also, as a local business and property owner, I have become more and more interested in becoming involved with the development of our town. I want to be a part of the decision making, review and approval process so I can have an impact on our town’s successful growth.
