Simsbury Speaks: A Community Forum in the Aftermath of Sandy Hook

Hosted by State Representative John K. Hampton & House Majority Leader Joe Aresimowicz

Do we need more school security? Is stronger gun control the answer? Are we doing enough to improve our mental health system?

These are just a few of the many questions that are being asked in the wake of the tragedy that occurred in Newtown on December 14, 2012.

This year, the CT General Assembly is addressing a multitude of proposed measures to prevent future events.

Representative Hampton invites residents to share their ideas, thoughts and concerns on these matters at a special forum on Tuesday, February 12th at 6:00 p.m. at the Apple Barn, 60 Old Farms Road in West Simsbury.

“I am pleased to offer this opportunity for constituents to add their voice to this critical dialogue. As we debate the issues in the state legislature, it is critical that I hear directly from Simsbury residents. I welcome and appreciate their input.”

For more information, please contact Rep. Hampton at 860.240.8500 or at john.hampton@cga.ct.gov

The article says it provides information about "various ways" the community can helpRead More teachers. However, it provides information only about the Staples discount program. The link takes you to a Staples website, not to a list of ways communities are helping. In addition, statistics given are national, not relating to Simsbury, or even Connecticut. This seems like a canned article designed to promote Staples. Was it written and submitted by that retailer?
