Proposed Simsbury Budget Increases, Board Expected to Vote Tuesday

A police officer for schools and an increase to public works adds $27,000 to town budget.

After postponing a vote on the selectman's proposed 2013 town budget last Thursday, the board of selectmen is expected to vote on an increased budget during a special budget workshop Tuesday.

Tack on an additional $27,880 to the proposed $18.13 million budget, that's how much First Selectman Mary Glassman told the board the town will add to the budget to meet some necessary needs.

According to the Hartford Courant, the new proposed budget includes a new police officer and an increase to the public works budget.
