Simsbury Hosts Swearing In Ceremony

Simsbury hosted its swearing in ceremony Monday night for the candidates elected in November as well as Design Review Board Members appointed by the Zoning Commission. 

State Rep. John Hampton touted the "orderly and decent" process that allows people the freedom to vote for their choice of candidates. He also paid tribute the Gettysburg Address. 

"We continue this glorious tradition with full faith and confidence that government of of the people, by the people and for the people will not perish," he said. 

State Comptroller Kevin Lembo praised the town and those who choose to serve. 

"You step out, put your toes on the line because you believe in something," he said, adding that those who didn't win also deserve praise. 

While not everyone elected was able to attend the event the following were all acknowledged and those present officially sworn in.
