Town: Flooding Risk Diminishes

Submitted release

Revised information from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) predicts a minor risk of flooding from the Farmington River as a result of recent heavy rain.  Estimates received yesterday predicted a greater rise in the Farmington River’s water level with a significantly greater risk of flooding to homes and roads.  According to the latest information, flooding, if any, would occur on Sunday morning, June 9, 2013 and would not affect housing along Riverside and Nod Roads – two areas prone to flooding from the Farmington River.  Road closures on Riverside and Nod Roads, if any, would not occur until Sunday morning.  Town safety personnel will continue to monitor the risk of flooding and will update residents accordingly.
