The Town of Simsbury is happy to announce the recipients of the 2012 Hometown Hero Awards.

Bob Gauthier is a veteran who has been co-chairman of the Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day Observances along with volunteering his time in the Jack Bannan’s Turkey Trot, the Lions Club, Town of Simsbury committees, Meals on Wheels, the Talcott Mountain Music Festival and his Church.

Nancy Grandin is the ultimate volunteer who has selflessly served multiple local organizations and worked tirelessly to make Simsbury a better place.  Her positive attitude, strong leadership and commitment, tireless efforts and selfless dedication continue to contribute significantly to the Town of Simsbury.

Mabel Howard is a driving force in the Simsbury Garden Club and she has taken on almost every job the club offers, most importantly that of Historian and Parliamentarian.  Our beautiful town has been made even more beautiful due in large part to the endeavors of Mabel.

These residents have met the criteria set forth in the Hometown Hero Guidelines and will be honored at the Board of Selectmen meeting on Wednesday, May 30th at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Hall Offices at 933 Hopmeadow Street.

The public is welcome to attend.
