On February 10, seventh grader Kate Addis (right) shared a smile and some cookies with Elinor Bernier from the Virginia Connolly Residence in Simsbury during a combined News Year’s Eve and Valentine’s Day party.
The original New Year’s celebration for the residents scheduled for January had to be cancelled, so Henry James social studies department supervisor Christina Chamberlain and family and consumer sciences department coordinator Janet Black, the organizers of the event, along with resident services coordinator Nancy Britton and housing authority executive director Joseph Loewy, decided that combining a New Year’s celebration with Valentine’s Day for the residents and Henry James students would just double the fun.
