Simsbury Camera Club Presents Color Management for Digital Photographers

In this eighth in a series of ten free seminars, Nathan Gutman of the Simsbury Camera Club will cover the perception of color by the human visual system; the color response of different devices (camera, monitor, projector, printer); and computer monitor calibration and matching between computer monitors, printers and projectors. This is an important subject because an understanding of color management is critical to success in digital photography. It affects the acquisition of a digital image by the camera, editing of the image file in a computer, and printing or showing of an image file by projection on a screen or television. Monitor profiling with the free QuickGamma software will be discussed as well as the use of dedicated equipment for calibrating monitors, printers, or projectors. A summary of the presentation will be provided for each attendee.
