Lemonade Stand Raises Money for Gifts of Love

Five Simsbury students held a lemonade stand to help provide local families with back to school supplies.

A small group of Tootin' Hills School students recently raised money to purchase backpacks and supplies for local families that need them.

Maddie, Abby and Ben Fabian teamed up with Sarah and Izzy Ackels on August 17 to host a lemonade stand as a fundraiser for Gifts of Love.

Sarah and Izzy Ackels held a similar fundraiser following Hurrican Katrina and decided they would raise money for local kids this year.

"It was a great success so they knew with some help from friends they could do it again," Debi Ackels said.

The students raised $90 for Gifts of Love.
