Community Update

I enthusiastically support Shannon Knall for Simsbury Board
of Selectmen.  Shannon has proven to be a
community leader who cares deeply for our town, a voice for those in need and
an ear to facilitate change.  Shannon is
someone who gets a job done.

I have known Shannon for 10 years and have seen firsthand
what Shannon can do.  Shannon Knall is
not only one of the founders of the Autism Speaks Chapter in Connecticut, but
has worked with legislators on a state and federal level on insurance changes
for people with autism, helped create and pass a bill that give tax-credits to
businesses who hire people with disabilities, is a member of state-wide disability
groups for autism and Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders
Associated with Streptococcal Infection (PANDAS) and is the Selectmen
Representative on the Aging and Disability Commission.

But Shannon’s efforts in our town are more far reaching than
the disability community.  Shannon
believes in protecting our resources in Simsbury, including open space and local
farms, bringing sustainable and responsible businesses to Simsbury, supporting
an improved Senior Center, better communication to the citizens of Simsbury,
especially in times of crisis and continued successful relations with our award
winning school system.  She is also the
liaison to the tourism and clean energy task forces and hosted the 1st
Annual Women’s Forum in Simsbury.
