Simsbury Trojans Spring Football

In CT, high schools have the choice of taking ten days in the spring, after Memorial Day to conduct practice, or they may choose to start their program five days earlier in the fall.

Simsbury Coach Jeff Osborne weighs in, “I would prefer to start the high school season in the spring for many reasons. Namely, spring ball allows our Varsity staff to evaluate the younger players who may have played Freshmen or JV football the previous season. We’re also able to practice fundamentals, which are very critical to the success of any football program. Finally, spring ball allows the staff to implement new teaching concepts and strategies. At the end of the spring season we’re able to evaluate everything and push into the summer with a firm foundation underfoot.”

This year, the team will be practicing on the turf at SHS in preparation for the Spring Blue & White game, to be played on Saturday, June 15 at 1:00 pm.
