Steve Kapiloff for Zoning

Today's guest blogger is Tom Kyzivat. Many of you may know Tom as an active school parent (which is how he met Steve!). Professionally, Tom is an attorney with The Hartford who served for over seven years, the last three as President, on the board of Co-opportunity, Inc., an Asylum Hill based non-profit providing financial counseling and asset building skills to low and moderate income residents of the greater Hartford area. Here's his endorsement of Steve Kapiloff:

I am writing in support of Steve Kapiloff’s candidacy for the Simsbury Zoning Commission.

I have known Steve for over 15 years, since our oldest children were in kindergarten together at Latimer Lane School.  I fully support him as a candidate for the Zoning Commission.   Steve has 25 years of experience as a real estate lawyer that he can use to Simsbury's advantage as a member of the commission. He as worked with all aspects of the real estate industry over the years and has an experienced professional's grasp of the zoning issues that may come before the Commission.

Steve also has been committed to serving the Simsbury community.   He and his wife Erica have been licensed foster parents, caring for infants in emergency situations for the past 12 years.   They have also volunteered as a host family for the Simsbury ABC house.   Steve also spent 10 years coaching his children's soccer and baseball teams in Simsbury's youth sports organization and was a member of the Simsbury Little League Board.

I know that Steve is committed to protecting Simsbury's unique character while managing its development over the next years.   His experience, intellect and community spirit will make him a valuable addition to the Zoning Commission.  I hope you will join me in voting for Steve on November 5.
