Surround Yourself with Kind People

Campaign season will be in full swing in the days and weeks after Labor Day, but before campaigns can happen, candidates hold campaign fundraisers. Funny, your friends and neighbors are raising money so they can volunteer!

Friday evening, friends of Deputy First Selectman Lisa Heavner opened their home in support of her re-election campaign. And when Lisa spoke (one of the requisite activities at a fundraiser), she didn't just talk about Simsbury, she spoke about kindness, and how important it is to surround oneself with kind people, especially in  politics. She also thanked her husband Jim for supporting her as she spends many hours away from home volunteering in the community.
