Tom Kyzivat for Planning

Today's guest blogger is Steve Kapiloff, who enthusiastically endorses Tom Kyzivat for Simsbury Planning Commission. Read on!

I am writing in support of Tom Kyzivat for the Simsbury Planning Commission.

I have known Tom for many years, initially as a result of our children having gone through Latimer Lane, Henry James and SHS together.  As a lawyer with The Hartford Financial Services Group, specializing in litigation, he would bring a rational and practical approach to the Planning Commission.  He is very interested in Simsbury's future, particularly the future of The Hartford property on Hop Meadow Street, and participated in the recent charrette process involving that property.  He has a strong sense of community and volunteerism, having served for 7 years on the board of directors  for a Hartford-based non-profit organization that focused on financial literacy and asset building for low and moderate income families in the greater Hartford area.  He was also involved as a coach over many years in both Simsbury Little League and the Simsbury Soccer Club. Tom has lived in Simsbury for over 20 years and has a good understanding of the issues facing Simsbury and how to continue to maintain its unique character.  These attributes will serve him well on the Planning Commission.
