Simsbury Beats Southington to Earn Spot in CCC West Finals

MAY 22: Less than three weeks after their last meeting, the Simsbury and Southington Boys Lacrosse teams faced each other in the CCC West semifinals. The teams played at Westminster School in a game that was postponed one day due to dangerous weather conditions.

The weather at game time was mild, but the action on the field was anything but. It was a duel to the finish with the game tied 6-6 at the end of the third quarter. Simsbury's Aaron Riccio found the goal twice in the fourth, and the Trojans came out on top, winning 8-6.

Simsbury had to fight hard for every goal. Jimmy ("JimmyJamz") Sexton contributed two clutch assists and was the heart of the team with his hustle and determination.

The CCC West championship game will be played on Thursday, 5/23, at Conard High School. Game time is 5PM. The Simsbury Trojans, who are now 14-3, will face the Glastonbury Tomahawks. These two teams just met last week in a challenging game for the Trojans, where the Tomahawks won 8-4.
