JUNE 1: The Simsbury Boys Lacrosse team's win over Southington at home today earned them a spot in the class L state tournament semifinals. The visiting Blue Knights scored early, but after that it was all Simsbury.
Ball possession was key in this match-up, with sophomore midfielder Alex George winning every face off. Junior attackman Mason Burr was dominant on offense, contributing three goals and one assist. Fellow attackman Aaron Riccio netted the other two goals in the Trojans' 5-1 victory.
Simsbury's semifinal game will be played against Staples of Westport on Wednesday, June 5. The game will be played at Cheshire High School at 7:15PM. The other semifinal contest pits Ridgefield against Fairfield Prep.
