Simsbury's Sensational Season Comes to an End

JUNE 6:  The Staples Wreckers lived up to their name last night, wrecking Simsbury's chance to play in the class L state finals.  The semifinal match-up between the Wreckers and Trojans featured exceptional defense by both teams; opportunities for clean shots were at a premium.  The game was scoreless after the first quarter and well into the second, before Staples players came up with two goals before halftime.  The teams traded goals in the second half, and the Wreckers were up 4-2 when the final horn sounded.

Simsbury goals were scored by sophomore Aaron Riccio and senior captain John Ryan.  Trojan goalie Tim Maher did an exceptional job denying Staples shooters, making 12 saves.

Simsbury finishes their season 17-4.  The Trojans are losing 13 seniors, but have a talented squad of underclassmen ready to step up next season.
