Celebrities Share Their Super Bowl Predictions

Joe Namath and others weigh in on the big game. Who do you think will win?

INDIANAPOLIS - Joe Namath has a good track record with making Super Bowl predictions. Hold your ears and eyes Giants fans, Broadway Joe is picking the Patriots to win Super Bowl XLVI.

On the eve of the world's greatest sporting spectacle, Namath and hundreds of other big names from the game were on-hand at the new "NFL Honors" post-season awards celebration at Murat Theatre.

“I did make one,” said Namath, referring to his prediction of the Jets beating the Colts in Super Bowl III.

Namath, who spoke with former Colts coach Don Shula before making his Patriots selection, went on to say that New England will win this year, 28-24.

“But I’m pulling for the Giants,” he said right after. “Does that make any difference?”

A handful of celebrities rattled off one-word predictions: Entourage star Emmanuelle Chiriqui: “Giants.” Mad Men star Jon Hamm: “Giants.” Long Island native and actor Billy Baldwin: “Giants.”

Indianapolis Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney was all about the Giants in his prediction.

“I grew up a Giants fan,” he said. “Let’s go Giants. Tom [Brady] is amazing, but you know what, let’s go G-men.”

Others like Buffalo Bills legend Jim Kelly and New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton played it safe in their picks.

“A good game,” Kelly said.

“No predictions,” Payton said, “just a high-scoring game.”

Long Island native and football legend Jim Brown, like Namath, was clear cut in his pick.

“New England,” he said convincingly, “all the way.”
