Female Self-Defense Clinic

Female Self-Defense Clinic

Black Belt Jukido Instructors Mark and Michael Goldfarb from the Simsbury Jukido Dojo are offering a self-defense clinic to Children, Youths, Adults, and Seniors ages 6 and older.  Instructors will teach and demonstrate basic self-defense techniques that can be used to protect oneself in certain situations.  Our goal is to have you walk away and have knowledge and confidence to perform several core techniques while learning in a safe and fun environment. Situations can affect anyone at anytime, regardless of where you live or work.  The importance of awareness and risk avoidance will also be addressed.  You need to take the necessary steps to protect yourself or loved ones if the need ever arises.

The following statistics are very serious, you should not take the attitude "it will never happen to me", you should be prepared: 73% of female assault victims were assaulted by someone they knew.  Approximately 1 in 5 (20%) High School girls reported being abused by a boyfriend. Over 35% of teens in the US (over 5.7 million) are estimated to be involved on school bullying as either a bully, a target of teen bullying, or both. In 2005, approximately 6% of students ages 12 to 18 reported they avoided school activities or one or more places in school because they thought someone might attack or harm them. In 2005, teen ages 12 to 19 and young adults ages 20 to 24 experienced the highest rates of violent crimes.

Participants should wear comfortable clothing. Class size is limited so be sure to register early. This one night clinic will be held in the air conditioned Eno Hall Auditorium.
