Simsbury Chamber sponsors successful Job Shadow Day at The Master's School

Since last spring, members of the Simsbury Chamber Education Committee have been working closely with The Master's School staff to bring the chamber's successful Job Shadow Day Program to their students.

On November 7, 2013, twenty-nine Simsbury Chamber members became mentors to students who have an interest in their field of work.   Approximately 70 eager students "shadowed" Simsbury Chamber members for the morning and then met back at The Master's School for a "business luncheon" with guest speaker, Kathy McAfee, America's Marketing Motivator.

The Simsbury Chamber of Commerce first started Job Shadow Day in 1998 with a grant from CBIA.  With a short hiatus in the last two years, the Simsbury Chamber has provided this program to Simsbury students continuously since 1998  mentoring hundreds of local students.

Members of the Simsbury Chamber Education Committee, chaired by Elaine Groundwater of Coldwell Banker Residential Properties, include Trish Thomas, The Resume Resource, Greta Lauro of Liberty Mutual Insurance, Ray Lagan of The Master's School and Charity Folk, Simsbury Chamber Executive Director.
