Who's Riding in Style at Simsbury Celebrates? Who Made the Best Gingerbread House?

Two fundraisers, many winners!

 

The Simsbury Celebrates Planning Committee is pleased to announce the winners of this years fundraising efforts. Ella Terwilliger and Sam Scott are the winners of the 10th anniversary “Win a Ride in the Simsbury Celebrates Fire Truck Parade Contest.” Ella will be the the 1st Junior Parade Marshall and lead the parade in a new red convertible and Sam will ride in a decorated Simsbury fire truck that will escort Santa to the Simsbury Meadows bandshell. The Holiday Fire Truck Parade is part of the finale for Simsbury Celebrates, held on November 26. The parade starts at 7:30 p.m. and goes from Drake Hill Road south on Hopmeadow Street to Phelps Lane, ending at the Simsbury Meadows on Iron Horse Blvd.

The committee is also pleased to announce the winners of this year’s Gingerbread Competition and Exhibit. The committee would like to thank all those who entered despite the week long power outages caused by the early storm. They are happy to report that 33 houses were entered. The competition had six categories: youth, teen, adult, group, family and professional. The winners of the youth category are: 1st place Kayla Foster, 2nd place Alana Barker, 3rd place Olive McGoldrick. Teen category: 1st place Shannon Keenan and Maddie Gastonqauy, 2nd place Kyra Steinmetz and 3rd place Grace Baily. Adult category: 1st place Mindy Holloway, 2nd place Janet Calabro and 3rd place Trish Rivard. Family category: 1st place the Paddock family, 2nd place the Fallon family and 3rd place the Brugnetti family. Group category 1st place: Laura Boss, Jane Hanson, Kristen Somerville, Lisa Martocchio, Carol Brown, 2nd place McLean Adult Day Care, 3rd place Lindsay Klorer and Lisa Hamel
